Ho Chi Minh City Command announced the dissolution of the District Military Command.

On June 25, the Ho Chi Minh City Command held a conference to announce the decision to dissolve the District Military Command. Major General Vu Van Dien, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, chaired the conference.

At the conference, the Ho Chi Minh City Command announced the Decision of the Minister of National Defense on dissolving the District Military Command, including the Thu Duc City Military Command and 21 districts; Directive of the Commander of Military Region 7 on implementing the decision to merge and reorganize the Provincial Military Command, dissolve the District Military Command, establish the Regional Defense Command, and the Border Guard Command under the Provincial Military Command.

Speaking at the conference, Major General Vu Van Dien, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, respectfully acknowledged, highly appreciated and commended the efforts and outstanding achievements of the Military Command of 21 districts and Thu Duc City in completing the assigned historical mission. The outstanding contributions of the units have significantly contributed to maintaining political stability, promoting socio-economic development in the locality, and at the same time creating a solid foundation for building an increasingly strong defense zone.

Major General Vu Van Dien also emphasized that the dissolution of the Military Command Boards of districts and Thu Duc City is a necessary change, in accordance with new regulations and to improve operational efficiency in the new situation.

The Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command requested that in the coming time, agencies and units continue to do a good job of ideological work for officers and soldiers; perfect the organizational structure, arrange appropriate personnel, and ensure that local defense and military work is continued seamlessly and effectively.

Major General Vu Van Dien also requested that officers and soldiers, regardless of their positions, must always promote the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, always be revolutionary soldiers and exemplary citizens, pioneers in all activities, unite and have high determination, creating a combined strength in building a strong national defense.

On the same day, the Ho Chi Minh City Command held a conference to hand over the Military Commands of districts, towns, and Thu Duc City to the Ho Chi Minh City Command.
