The Ministry of Health awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals after the incident at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.

On the morning of October 28, at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, the Ministry of Health and the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a ceremony to award Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Health and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An to groups and individuals who had bravely acted to protect the safety of patients and their families in an emergency situation that occurred at the hospital on October 23.

Professor, Dr. Tran Van Thuan presented the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Health to the Department of Neonatology and two nurses Tran Thi Hong and Nguyen Thi Hong.

At the ceremony, Professor, Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health, awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Minister of Health to 1 group and 4 individuals of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital for their brave actions, regardless of danger, to protect the lives and health of patients and their families, including: Neonatal Department; nurse Nguyen Thuy Trang; nurse Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai; nurse Tran Thi Hong; nurse Nguyen Thi Hong.

Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 individuals: Nurse Nguyen Thi Nhung; Nurse Phan Thi Oanh; Mr. Luu Xuan Dung and Mr. Tran Kim Quyen.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan praised the brave actions of individuals and groups of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital in facing and protecting the absolute safety of patients and colleagues, and organizing on-site emergency care for the injured. Nurses are the living shield between patients and danger; they are the ones who maintain social trust in morality and justice.

The Deputy Minister of Health emphasized that the certificates of merit awarded today are a thank you from the health sector and also an affirmation that health workers are not alone. Behind every health worker is the health sector and the whole society. And ahead, life is waiting for us, we cannot delay for a second.

Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan expressed his hope that after this story, each hospital will learn a valuable lesson to strengthen the warning system, reinforce the security team, build a treatment process, and provide psychological care for staff after trauma.

And more importantly, to build a humane, safe, professional medical environment worthy of the people's trust and worthy of the task of taking care of people's health that the Party and State have assigned.

The Deputy Minister of Health and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, along with leaders of the Department of Health, went to Nghe An General Hospital to directly visit, encourage and award Certificates of Merit to 3 nurses being treated there, namely nurse Nguyen Thuy Trang, nurse Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai and nurse Nguyen Thi Nhung; and visited and gave gifts to 2 relatives of injured patients.
