The Drug Administration of Vietnam has sent a document to the Department of Health of provinces and centrally run cities; VB Group Trading and Service Company Limited (Address: Mezzanine floor of Dai Thanh Binh building, No. 911-913-915-917 Nguyen Trai, Ward 14, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City); EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company (Address: Road No. 6, Giang Dien Industrial Park, Giang Dien Commune, Trang Bom District, Dong Nai Province) regarding the suspension of circulation and recall of cosmetics for the product Hanayuki Sunscreen Body (box of 1 tube of 100g).
The Drug Administration of Vietnam ( Ministry of Health ) has just issued a decision to suspend circulation, recall and destroy the entire batch of Hanayuki Sunscreen Body products (box of 1 tube of 100g) because they do not meet regulations when not recording the sun protection index as on the product label. According to the product label, the batch has PCB reception number: 779/24/CBMP-DN; batch number: 0010125; production date: 060125; expiration date: 050127.
The organization responsible for bringing the product to market is VB Group Trading and Service Company Limited; EBC Group Company Limited - now EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company produces.
The test results conducted by the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Drug Testing showed that the sun protection index on the label (SPF 50) did not match the test results of the sun protection index of the sample (SPF: 2.4).
According to the declaration form, the product's features and uses are to protect the skin from the sun, nourish the skin and whiten the whole body, but does not state that the product has an SPF of 50 as on the product label.
Therefore, the Drug Administration of Vietnam requests to suspend circulation and recall nationwide the above product batch.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam requests the Department of Health of provinces and cities to notify cosmetic businesses and users in the area to immediately stop trading and using the product batch, and at the same time monitor the recall, destruction, and handling of violators in accordance with regulations.
VB Group and EBC Dong Nai must send recall notices to distributors and users of the above product batch; receive returned products from business establishments and recall all products that do not meet regulations; and send a report to the Department before June 15.
In case the infringing element cannot be removed (the infringing label cannot be separated from the goods), the above batch of products must be destroyed.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam also requested the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health and the Dong Nai Department of Health to monitor the two companies in recalling batches of products that do not meet regulations; inspect compliance with legal regulations on cosmetics management in cosmetics production and trading activities; handle and punish violations according to current regulations; and report the results to the Department before June 30.
