On the afternoon of June 5, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (PA05) - Khanh Hoa Provincial Police informed that officers of this unit had just guided a citizen through the procedures to return 1.77 billion VND that was mistakenly transferred into his account.
Previously, on the afternoon of May 30, Mr. TVQH (24 years old, from Dong Xuan district, Phu Yen province), a motorbike taxi driver in Nha Trang city, received a phone call from a Techcombank employee saying that 1.77 billion VND had just been mistakenly transferred to his account.

At that time, Mr. H. was at work, and his account number at this bank had not been used for a long time, so he did not know the truth, and suspected fraud so he turned off his phone. That same evening, Mr. H. downloaded the banking application to check, discovered that the balance had increased suddenly, so he reported it to the police.
PA05 Provincial Police received the information and sent officers to guide Mr. H. to complete the necessary procedures. The police agency also worked with the bank to verify. This company stated that the above amount of 1.77 billion VND was due to an error by the staff during the transfer, leading to the transfer into Mr. H's account.
After verification, on the afternoon of June 4, PA05 officers and Mr. H. went to the above bank headquarters in Nha Trang City to complete the procedure to return the money to the mistakenly transferred unit.
