Matthieu Blazy takes us on a journey of self -discovery , redefining conventional wardrobes with sophisticated designs and premium materials.
Season after season, Matthieu Blazy’s design language has evolved across the Milan runways, extending his trajectory to Bottega Veneta. Since taking over the helm of the house from Daniel Lee, Blazy has reimagined wardrobe staples in elevated formats, focusing on high-end craftsmanship and sophisticated silhouettes.
For spring 2024, Bottega Veneta transported guests to a fashion forest. The vast venue in Milan’s Bovisa district was colored with hand-drawn maps, conveying the message of exploring the wonders of nature with leather compass-shaped invitations.
The collection was certainly wearable, seeing bold designs incorporated into everyday wardrobes. Birds chirping and waterfalls enchanted the room with an outdoorsy feel, ignited by men and women with neatly packed bags ready for travel .
First, tweed jackets and crisp white linings took to the runway with shiny clutch bags, complemented by patchwork knits designed for the holidays. Sophisticated businessmen stormed the city in fringed overcoats, striped shirts and leather ties, clutching accessories and dated newspapers.
Modern trench coats evolved into buttoned scarves and pleated trousers, while fringed tops came in black, white and wine-like tones. Abstract prints appeared on one-shoulder dresses with an art deco feel, while pale blue sets with zigzag hems were paired with bold red ensembles. Fuzzy pom-poms appeared on skin-baring woven dresses for lavish parties, topped off with a floor-length skirt.
