Unveiled at the 2025 FuoriConcorso, the high-performance Bovensiepen Zagato marks the official launch of the new automotive brand and the beginning of a promising German-Italian alliance. If the name "Bovensiepen" sounds familiar to Burkard Bovensiepen - the founder of the legendary German car tuning company - Alpina, in 1965. The new GT from Buchloe is the family's first independent project since BMW took over the brand in 2022.
Bovensiepen was founded by Andreas and Florian Bovensiepen (sons of the late founder of the famous BMW tuning company - Alpina, Mr. Burkard Bovensiepen). To mark the first car, Bovensiepen collaborated with designer Zagato to create it. The company is based in Buchloe like Alpina and has just made its mark with its first model, the "Bovensiepen Zagato". With technical roots from Bavaria, based on the BMW M4 and with Milanese design DNA, the car is a true grand tourer, striking a balance between German solidity and Mediterranean charm. The car's name highlights the collaboration between Bovensiepen and the famous Italian designer - Zagato. The Zagato mark is clearly shown in the Double Bubble roof and the typical BMW radiator grille has been removed, replaced by a stainless steel radiator grille for added sophistication.
The large air intakes with honeycomb pattern are painted black. The overall car has many similarities with the BMW M4, but the difference is that the entire body is made of carbon fiber. The trunk lid is also new to hide the delicate ducktail spoiler. Everything makes the Bovensiepen Zagato lean more towards a luxury sports tourer than a rugged, aggressive coupe. The Bovensiepen Zagato has no convertible roof, although the B-pillar design is quite similar to the M4 Convertible (code G83). The Bovensiepen Zagato features custom 20-inch alloy wheels, Bilstein dampers and an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system. The interior of each Bovensiepen Zagato takes 130 hours to complete with Lavalina leather upholstery.
Customers can choose from dozens of leather colors and Alcantara combinations. In total, the car takes 250 hours to complete, with more than 400 custom-designed parts. Bovensiepen Zagato is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline-6 cylinder engine (S58) twin-turbocharged from the M4, the power is adjusted to increase the capacity to 602 horsepower (79 horsepower more than the M4 Convertible) and torque 700 Nm (50 Nm more). Bovensiepen Zagato is developed based on the M4 so it only has a full-time 4-wheel drive system and automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds; 0.4 seconds faster than the M4 (G83). Bovensiepen Zagato's selling price and production numbers are expected to be announced in the fourth quarter of this year, with deliveries starting in the second quarter of 2026.
