Private space tourism companies SpaceVIP and Space Perspective have teamed up to offer a unique luxury dining experience in space, with customers willing to pay $495,000 to fly to the edge of space in a balloon-shaped spacecraft.
The six-hour journey will depart from Florida. Up to six passengers will fly aboard Space Perspective's Neptune spacecraft, which will fly to an altitude of about 30 kilometers (19 miles) above the ground, and will be served a menu created by Danish chef Rasmus Munk (whose restaurant, Alchemist, has two Michelin stars).

In addition to presenting passengers with a specially designed menu, Rasmus Munk, 32, will also act as a host during this special trip.
Passengers will dine while watching the sun rise over the curvature of the Earth. On board, guests will have access to Wi-Fi throughout the journey, as well as proper restroom facilities. Guests can admire the mesmerizing views of our planet below through the ship's large windows.
Each guest will also wear a fully tailored suit by French fashion house Ogier, which creates suits using cutting-edge fabrics specially designed for this expedition.
Space Perspective said it will carry its first commercial passengers in 2025. The company will begin test flights of the Neptune spacecraft in April 2024.
“ Embarking on this unprecedented culinary adventure into space marks a pivotal moment in human history,” said Roman Chiporukha, founder of SpaceVIP. “This inaugural voyage is just the first chapter in SpaceVIP’s mission to harness the power of space travel, to raise human awareness, and to shape humanity’s shared evolution with the world beyond Earth .”
