New symbol of Vung Tau

These days, walking along Thuy Van Street - the "heart" of Bai Sau, it is not difficult to see the image of tourists standing in front of a new architectural work, brilliant in the sun and overwhelmed when night falls. That is Tam Thang Square, which is gradually becoming the new check-in center of tourists, and is expected to be a boost to open up a modern look for Vung Tau tourism .

Not simply an entertainment destination, Tam Thang Square also carries within it the cultural and historical story of the coastal land, recreated with groundbreaking architectural thinking and international creativity.

Next to Tam Thang Tower, the new symbol of Vung Tau, the entire square space has become an important highlight in the project to renovate the 3.2 km long Thuy Van and Bai Sau roads - the largest local investment project ever.

Located in the center of Back Beach, the place with the highest tourist density in Vung Tau, Tam Thang Square is oriented to become a modern, multi-functional public space, serving the people and tourists. In which, Tam Thang Tower is the most impressive highlight.

The structure is made up of 143 reinforced concrete pillars ranging from 4.55m to 34.25m high, arranged in increasing height towards the sea. The overall structure simulates the image of three boat prows, a symbol associated with the story of the formation of the three villages Thang Nhat, Thang Nhi and Thang Tam, which are the historical foundation of today's Vung Tau city.

With its strong yet elegant design, Tam Thang Tower evokes the past and represents the spirit of the coastal city’s seafaring, development and integration. Standing at the foot of the tower, visitors can feel the massive height, the rhythmic movement of the pillars and the unique visual effect that the architecture brings.

Modern architectural art combined with exquisite craftsmanship

Not only impressive thanks to its strong shape, the mosaic ceramic tile surface makes Tam Thang Tower a true work of art. Hundreds of thousands of mosaic tiles are meticulously crafted and installed to create a vivid lighting effect when the sun shines or when the lights are turned on at night.

At night, the tower seems to be “dressed” in a multi-colored light coat of LED system programmed into each layer of columns. The high and low columns interweave to create visual depth, turning the entire area into a light art stage in the middle of Vung Tau sea and sky, feeling both modern and magical.

The design was carried out by Italian architect Oliviero Godi and his colleagues. This was the winning design in the Tam Thang Square design competition sponsored by Sun Group . After that, Sun Group continued to sponsor the entire construction of the project as a gift to the locality.

During the construction process, the team of engineers and experts closely supervised, ensuring that each item was constructed with absolute precision. The tallest pillar alone weighed up to 104 tons, requiring transportation and installation to be safe and highly accurate. Mosaic details and artistic LED systems were also installed with almost absolute requirements to achieve the lighting effect according to the design.

Not only standing out with its iconic architecture, Tam Thang Square is also oriented to be a modern public space, serving many functions: entertainment, community cultural activities and event organization.

Vong Canh Cape, the most beautiful sea view spot in Back Beach

The highest point of the square is Mui Vong Canh, 3.6m above the ground. From here, visitors can observe the whole view of Back Beach, Thuy Van Street and the modern hotel and resort strips behind. The sea and sky blend together to create a beautiful visual experience, especially at dawn or dusk.

Right below Mui Vong Canh is a semi-basement area of nearly 450 square meters, arranged with a check-in area, a coffee shop, a refreshment area, and a resting space. The open, airy, and modern design creates conditions for visitors to have more options for experiences when coming to the square.

On the sea-facing area with an area of over 17,000m², Tam Thang Square is integrated with a series of event service items: 5,800m² water music stage; Stage divided into levels, organizing events, performing arts, sea festivals; Dry fountain system with an area of 665m² right on the road front area.

Thanks to its large space, modern design and prime location, the square is expected to become the venue for major cultural and tourism festivals in Vung Tau in the near future.

230 thousand people came to Vung Tau during the recent September 2nd holiday.

In particular, the large-scale water music stage will bring high-class entertainment programs to tourists - a type that is lacking in the Back Beach area. Combined with the artistic LED lighting system from Tam Thang tower, the square promises to become a unique "showcase" of light, water and sound art, opening up a night tourism product with strong appeal.

The project to renovate Thuy Van and Bai Sau streets is considered one of the most important projects in Vung Tau in recent times. The establishment of Tam Thang Square not only has a significant landscape but also has a direct impact on the tourism development strategy.

Back Beach is the most popular tourist destination in the city. Tourism and service activities are developing rapidly, but public infrastructure and night entertainment venues are lacking.

The appearance of the square is expected to help: Increase the experience of tourists, especially at night; Create new cultural and artistic tourism products; Extend the length of stay and stimulate spending; Increase the competitiveness of Bai Sau compared to other coastal localities.

The difference of Tam Thang Square lies in the modern architectural thinking, aiming at symbolism, versatility and the ability to serve the community. This is not only a check-in point, but also a living space, an event venue and even a “new face” of Vung Tau beach tourism.

As soon as it was completed, Tam Thang Square quickly received the attention of the community. Many people called it "the new symbol of Vung Tau", "the most beautiful construction in Bai Sau in many years". Tourists continuously shared check-in photos with Tam Thang tower on social networks, creating a strong spreading effect.

The space is invested in a systematic, modern and civilized manner, helping Vung Tau become more professional in the eyes of tourists. With major events and festivals expected to be held here, Tam Thang Square will be the focal point attracting both domestic and international visitors.
