On July 17, Lao Cai Province General Hospital No. 3 announced that yesterday the unit had successfully performed surgery on DTC (14 years old, in Nam Co commune, Lao Cai province) who had a 9kg tumor in his abdomen.
When admitted to the hospital, C. said her abdomen had been distended for 7 days, she did not vomit, had no fever, and had normal bowel movements.
Because my stomach was unusually distended, my family took me to the hospital for examination.
The doctor ordered the patient to have a CT scan and an emergency consultation with imaging specialists from Hanoi Medical University. The patient was diagnosed with a very large lymphoma.
The very large lymphatic tumor compressed the entire abdomen, pushed on the organs, and threatened life.
Immediately afterwards, the hospital’s surgical team performed an urgent, precise endoscopic surgery that lasted an hour. The entire tumor, weighing about 9kg, was safely removed.
According to Lao Cai Province General Hospital No. 3, the surgery was successful thanks to intensive coordination between the provincial and central levels.
Currently, the young woman's health is recovering well after surgery.
