BYD Seal 06 DM-i 2026 fuel-efficient, cheap car launched, only from 358 million VND

With a pure electric range of 128km, the 2026 Seal 06 DM-i sedan is considered a strategic move by BYD to meet new regulations on tax incentives for hybrid vehicles.

BYD has officially launched the 2026 Seal 06 DM-i mid-size sedan, adding a new option to the company's plug-in hybrid product line. The car is introduced in two configurations, priced at 96,800 yuan (about 358 million VND) and 106,800 yuan (equivalent to 395 million VND) respectively.

The BYD Seal 06 DM-i 2026 sedan is developed on a common platform with the Qin L model and continues to pursue the "Ocean Series" design philosophy typical of China's leading auto group.

The front of the car stands out with a closed grille, a familiar style on the company's new PHEV and EV models, combined with large, low-mounted air intakes, creating a sporty and monolithic appearance.

The rear of the car uses a lens-shaped taillight cluster with a central strip of water-drop-shaped lights placed symmetrically on both sides, below is a dark rear bumper that gives a solid feeling. Seal 06 uses semi-hidden door handles similar to the Atto 2 model.

The cabin follows the “Ocean Family” theme, focusing on soft curved surfaces and modern color tones. The car is equipped with a large 15.6-inch vertical center screen, a digital LCD clock cluster behind the steering wheel, a circular center console, a compact floating paddle shifter and smartly arranged function keys.

The overall style is youthful, neat, with a hint of a new sedan for urban customers. The size of the Seal 06 DM-i 2026 is in the mid-range sedan group with the parameters Length x Width x Height respectively: 4,830 x 1,875 x 1,495mm, wheelbase: 2,790mm.

The size of the BYD Seal 06 DM-i 2026 is equivalent to D-class sedans such as the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord, but has a much cheaper resale price.

BYD is equipped with the company's most advanced fifth-generation DM plug-in hybrid system. The system includes a 1.5L gasoline engine, with a capacity of about 100 horsepower and a torque of 126Nm, combined with an electric motor with a maximum capacity of 218 horsepower.

Thanks to the large capacity battery, the Seal 06 DM-i 2026 has a pure electric range of 128km, helping the car exceed the standard of >100km EV range to enjoy the new NEV tax incentives in China. These parameters are equivalent to the Seal 05 DM-i model that was recently launched in Vietnam.

Last month, the Chinese government raised the tax exemption criteria for hybrid cars to a pure electric range of more than 100km, forcing the production of models with lower ranges to be discontinued, including the 2025 Seal 06 DM-i with a small battery, with a range of 80km.
