Dongfeng is no longer a strange name to drivers in Vietnam. Previously, the Dongfeng brand was often associated with trucks. However, since the beginning of 2025, through distributor Carvivu, Dongfeng has entered the passenger car segment in the Vietnamese market with 4 car models, including Box, Mage, Huge and E70. Around the first quarter of 2026, Dongfeng will continue to expand its product portfolio in the Vietnamese market with two new models, including the pure electric Vigo and Mage. According to Dongfeng, both models have good sales in the Chinese domestic market.
Dongfeng Vigo Called by its own name Nammi 06 in the Chinese market, Dongfeng Vigo was first introduced in February 2025. Vigo is developed based on the Quantum Architecture Platform 3 chassis similar to Dongfeng Box. Compared to Box, Dongfeng Vigo has larger dimensions with length x width x height of 4,306 x 1,868 x 1,645 mm and a wheelbase of 2,715 mm. Meanwhile, the design of Dongfeng Vigo is quite similar to Kia. This electric car model has a square front end with a closed grille, headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights in the shape of the number 7, rearview mirrors located on the A-pillar, large wheel arches and 17-inch alloy wheels. Next to it is a silver underbody protection plate and black rectangular air intakes. In addition, Dongfeng Vigo is also equipped with a split tailgate that can open up and down. The lower half of the tailgate can withstand loads of up to 150 kg to serve outdoor activities. Meanwhile, the rear light cluster is designed in the shape of the letter "n", combining pixel matrix elements. The vehicle's turn signals, reverse lights and brake lights are capable of displaying different light patterns, helping to increase recognition as well as communication with other vehicles on the road. Inside this model is a minimalist interior design. Here, the car is equipped with an 8.8-inch digital dashboard, a column-shaped gear lever behind the two-spoke steering wheel, a 12.8-inch central touchscreen, a 6-speaker audio system and a 50W wireless phone charger.
In addition, there are hidden cup holders, a panoramic sunroof, 128-color interior ambient lighting and two rows of seats that can be folded flat with one touch, creating a bed for passengers. In high-end versions, the car also has seats with integrated heating, cooling and massage functions. The "heart" of Dongfeng Vigo is a front-mounted electric motor with a maximum capacity of 184 horsepower. Thanks to that, the car can reach a maximum speed of 150 km/h. This motor goes with a battery with a capacity of 51.87 kWh, for an operating range of 480 km, longer than its competitor BYD Atto 2. Charging time from 30% to 80% with DC fast charging only takes 18 minutes. 3C super fast charging technology helps the car run 100 km after only 5 minutes of charging. In the Chinese market, Dongfeng Vigo has 5 versions and prices range from 89,900 - 119,900 Yuan (about 311 - 419 million VND). Dongfeng Mage electric version Like Vigo, the pure electric version of Dongfeng Mage has its own name in the Chinese market, Aeolus Sky EV0, launched in the Chinese market from October 2023. The car is developed based on the Mach-E lightweight aluminum chassis, with dimensions of length x width x height of 4,670 x 1,900 x 1,617 mm and a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. Thus, the car is 20 mm longer, 5 mm lower, 13 mm shorter and has the same wheelbase as Dongfeng Mage. According to Dongfeng, the Aeolus Sky EV01 carries the “Sky Aesthetics” design philosophy. The car has a closed grille, slim LED lights, flat door handles, LED taillights connected on both sides, 18-inch alloy wheels and large tires with low rolling resistance.
Despite its large wheelbase, the Aeolus Sky EV01 is only equipped with a 2-row interior with 5 seats. Because of this, the rear seats are quite spacious and can be folded 60:40 to increase storage capacity. In addition to the standard 413-liter trunk, the car also has more than 15 storage compartments in the interior. The equipment of this Chinese electric car is also sufficient with a 12.5-inch digital dashboard, combined with a 10.2-inch central touch screen, USB Type C port and automatic air conditioning. The "heart" of the Aeolus Sky EV01 is a powerful electric motor with 215 horsepower and a maximum torque of 310 Nm in the high-end version. The corresponding figures for the low-end version are 161 horsepower and 240 Nm. The electric motor is combined with a battery with a capacity of 50.8 kWh or 62.4 kWh, providing a travel range of 445 km and 530 km respectively.
Charging time with AC slow charging ranges from 7.9 hours to 9.8 hours, depending on the battery type. Meanwhile, if using DC fast charging, charging time is reduced to 0.5 hours. In the Chinese market, Aeolus Sky EV01 is currently sold for 149,900 - 169,900 yuan (about 524 - 594 million VND). Video : See details of China's Dongfeng Vigo electric SUV.
