Ca Mau reclaims land for 'unfinished' hospital project

On May 22, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province issued a decision on land recovery from the joint venture of Ca Mau University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital Joint Stock Company and Sao Viet Cosmetic Hospital Company Limited.

According to the decision, Ca Mau will reclaim 21,285 ^{square meters} of land from the joint venture company in Ward 1, Ca Mau City, Ca Mau Province.

The above project was approved by the People's Committee of Ca Mau province for the land use investment portfolio to select investors in 2017. The winning bidder is a consortium of Ho Chi Minh City Medical and Pharmaceutical General Examination and Treatment Center LLC (now converted into Ca Mau University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital Joint Stock Company) - Sao Viet Cosmetic Hospital LLC.

In January 2018, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province and this joint venture signed a contract with a total investment of at least VND21 billion, expected to complete the project by March 2019. However, after many years of implementation, the joint venture has not yet completed the project.

The Ca Mau City Private General Clinic project is located in a "golden land" location, located in the administrative, cultural, sports and service area of ​​Ca Mau province, but after many years of abandonment, the area is overgrown with weeds.

Previously, the Department of Construction of Ca Mau province decided to revoke the construction permit granted to the above company because the project contract expired but the company had not completed the investment and construction.
