There are 9,000 intergenerational self-help clubs nationwide.

BPO - On the morning of May 8, at the Binh Phuoc bridge, leaders of the Provincial Association of the Elderly and representatives of a number of departments, branches and sectors attended the national online conference summarizing Project 1336 according to Decision No. 1336/QD-TTg dated August 31, 2020 of the Prime Minister on approving the Project to replicate the model of "Intergenerational Self-Help Clubs" until 2025 organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly.

By the end of April 2025, 63/63 provinces and cities had intergenerational self-help clubs, exceeding the target by 5%. The initiative, responsibility, enthusiasm and positivity in implementing the project of localities have contributed to expanding, managing and maintaining the quality of the clubs, creating a vibrant emulation movement and becoming a key task of the seniors' associations at all levels nationwide. In the 5 years of implementing the project, 6,000 new clubs were established nationwide, exceeding the project target by 155%, with the participation of more than 330,000 members. The total number of clubs nationwide is currently 9,000. The funding source from members of 9,000 intergenerational self-help clubs voluntarily contributed and mobilized reached about more than 450 trillion VND.

In Binh Phuoc, in the period of 2020-2025, 105 clubs have been established, reaching over 200% of the project target. Currently, the whole province has 151 clubs with over 7,800 members participating. Many activities of the clubs have brought practical results, contributing to improving the quality of life of the elderly; improving solidarity between generations; creating sustainable livelihoods and reducing poverty; raising awareness of the rights of the elderly; implementing social security policies...

At the conference, the opinions and discussions of the delegates contributed to clarifying the results achieved as well as the shortcomings in the implementation of the project. At the same time, the delegates were informed of Decision 379/QD-TTg dated February 20, 2025 of the Prime Minister approving the project "Elderly people participating in promoting digital transformation, green transformation, entrepreneurship and job creation" and Decision No. 383/QD-TTg dated February 21, 2025 of the Prime Minister approving the National Strategy on the Elderly to 2035, with a vision to 2045.
