In a recent announcement, the management company J97 Entertainment of male singer Jack spoke up to explain the delay in delivering lightsticks to consumers. The company representative said the reason why the product could not reach customers after a long wait was because the production process was taking place overseas.
"We understand the audience's anxiety when waiting for an update on the production progress and sincerely apologize for this delay. The company affirms that there is no act of deception or taking advantage of fans' trust when selling the lightstick. Currently, the product is still in the production stage overseas," the announcement from J97 Entertainment stated.

At the same time, the company also offers a solution for affected customers. Those who want a refund can send a request via the company's official email for processing as soon as possible. For customers who still trust and continue to wait, the company promises to give a special gift and lightstick as a thank you and apology. In addition, J97 promises to update the production progress more frequently.
However, this response continues to cause a wave of criticism on social media platforms.
In August 2024, Jack (J97) excited fans when he launched 2 versions of lightsticks exclusively for FC Dom Dom. Version 1 costs 997,000 VND/piece, while version 2 is for special events with a limited quantity of 3,600 pieces.
According to the announcement, with a limited quantity of 3,600 pieces, if sold out, the company and artists will earn a total of nearly 3.6 billion VND from orders because all orders must be paid in advance. However, although nearly 10 months have passed since the announcement, the audience has not yet received the lightstick.
Through the program on VTV, lawyer Nguyen Van Hau - Chairman of the Vietnam Lawyers Commercial Arbitration Center commented: "Through this story, I see that the company and the artist both have illegal acts according to the provisions of Articles 37 and 38 of the Law on Consumer Protection 2023 regarding the time, location and method of providing products that do not meet the requirements of consumers".
According to lawyers, consumers have the right to unilaterally terminate the contract, and companies and artists must comply with legal regulations to pay back money and even compensate if causing damage.
