Vietnamese families prioritize beach travel during the summer

NDO - Search data on Booking.com shows that beach trips continue to top the list of summer travel choices for Vietnamese families.

According to Booking.com search data, between June 1 and July 31, 2025, beach trips (61%) and nature exploration (59%) continue to top the list of choices for Vietnamese families, followed by trips to big cities (45%).

In the country, destinations such as Da Nang , Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Da Lat (Lam Dong), Phu Quoc (Kien Giang) or Vung Tau (Ba Ria-Vung Tau) are the most sought-after destinations. Not only possessing beautiful landscapes and pleasant climates, these places also provide ideal relaxation spaces, helping families enjoy meaningful moments together, meeting the diverse vacation needs of tourists of all ages.

Top 10 domestic destinations most searched by Vietnamese families from June 1 to July 31, 2025 include: Da Nang, Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat (Lam Dong), Hanoi , Vung Tau (Ba Ria-Vung Tau), Hoi An (Quang Nam), Phu Quoc (Kien Giang), Ha Long (Quang Ninh), Hue (Thua Thien Hue).

For international tourism, Singapore, Tokyo (Japan) and Bangkok (Thailand) are the three most popular destinations this summer. This is also the second consecutive year these cities have appeared on the list.

The top 10 international destinations most searched by Vietnamese families from June 1 to July 31, 2025 include: Bangkok (Thailand), Tokyo (Japan), Singapore, Seoul (Korea), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Paris (France), Hong Kong (China), Osaka (Japan), Sydney (Australia) and Chiang Mai (Thailand).

According to Booking.com’s 2025 Travel Predictions Report, the top goal for families when traveling is to enjoy quality time together. Notably, 88% of parents said they see travel as an opportunity to expose their children to diverse cultures and enrich their experiences, while 59% want to explore new foods and local specialties.

This change in mindset is also clearly reflected in the way they plan, with 58% of Vietnamese parents prioritizing annual travel, regardless of circumstances.

Notably, 41% said they plan to increase their travel budget in 2025 compared to last year, in order to create more meaningful and engaging experiences with loved ones.

65% of Vietnamese tourists see travel as a great opportunity to spend time together. Family trips are no longer simply a journey of sightseeing and relaxation, but have become precious moments to connect and share between generations.
