What skills need to be taught to children in the technology age?

Experts will share the skills young people need to ensure future success in a world that is rapidly changing due to the impact of technology, in a talk show broadcast on May 4.

The seminar "Revealing skills to help children lead the era of change" was jointly organized by VnExpress newspaper and Apollo English. The program aims to help parents, teachers, policymakers... find answers to educational problems to help children succeed in the new technology era.

The superiority of artificial intelligence (AI) leads to new technological trends, changing from models to the way many areas of real life operate. According to the Future of Jobs 2023 report of the World Economic Forum (WEF), in the next five years, 83 million jobs will disappear and 69 million new jobs will be created. Therefore, experts say, children growing up in this new era must prepare the right set of skills to master and adapt firmly.

The seminar has two guests, including: Mr. Hoang Nam Tien - former Chairman of FPT Software, FPT Telecom, FPT Corporation; Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors - FPT University, in charge of postgraduate training activities and Mr. Lewis Readman - Senior Academic Director of Apollo English. The two speakers will share new educational perspectives and methods, suitable for changes and development trends promoted by advanced technologies.

With many years of experience in technology, Mr. Hoang Nam Tien made many comments on the development, penetration and impacts of artificial intelligence, as well as many other technologies, in the coming years. At the same time, the leader of the largest technology corporation in Vietnam pointed out the difference in educating and nurturing children in an era where technology strongly influences life.

On the education front, Mr. Lewis Readman shares about the pervasiveness of AI in every corner; how this technology has changed parents, teachers, training institutions and learners. From this, viewers can grasp the whole picture of opportunities and challenges for the generation growing up in the digital age.

In the second session, two experts provided viewers with a set of skills necessary for children's rapid development and adaptation in the coming years. In response to parents' concerns about AI replacing humans, experts encouraged parents, educators... to help children equip themselves with the "difference" between themselves and robots and AI.

Mr. Tien is famous on social networking platforms for sharing a lot of useful information about professional skills, experience... and bringing positive energy to candidates and viewers in VTV's program " Opportunity for Whom ".

Mr. Lewis Readman graduated from Newcastle University (UK) and has more than 5 years of experience in the field of ELT management (English Learning Teaching). He has a Cambridge DELTA certificate with a major in module 3 on ELT management and more than 10 years of experience in teaching, managing operations, and developing professional programs. The male speaker is also a senior advisor, contributing to inspiring learning to thousands of Vietnamese children through Apollo English's educational programs and community activities.
