On February 2, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Hoa, Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Nam province confirmed that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had just signed decisions to remove four directors and deputy directors of the Department. These officials violated the work of preventing and fighting the COVID-19 epidemic and receiving citizens returning to the country to prevent and fight the epidemic; managing and using land for a number of investment projects and implementing projects/bid packages carried out by Tien Bo International Joint Stock Company (AIC).

Accordingly, Mr. Than Duc Suu (retired) was removed from the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Finance; Mr. Nguyen Van Tho (retired) was removed from the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Mr. Nguyen Van Van was removed from the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Health and retired early; Mr. Le Ngoc Tuong was removed from the position of Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and immediately fired.
The above-named men committed violations during their tenure and were disciplined by the Central Inspection Committee. Among them, Mr. Van and Mr. Tuong were disciplined by being expelled from the Party.
According to Ms. Hoa, the Provincial People's Committee dismissed Mr. Van and Mr. Tuong according to regulations on handling officials who violate the law. These two men also requested to retire according to their personal wishes and it was approved.
Previously, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province signed a decision approving the list of staff reduction in the first phase in 2024.
In this list, there are Mr. Nguyen Phu, Director of the Department of Construction; Mr. Tran Thanh Ha, previously Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (currently not reappointed); Mr. Nguyen Van Van, previously Deputy Director of the Department of Health (currently a senior specialist of the Department of Health), all on the list of early retirement; Mr. Le Ngoc Tuong, previously Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs (currently a senior specialist of the Department of Foreign Affairs), was immediately dismissed./.
