Singer Trinh Vinh Trinh, representing the family of the late musician Trinh Cong Son, shared joy with singer Cam Van on the occasion of the album Vet Luan Tram's release on March 25 in Ho Chi Minh City. |
Singer Cam Van said that the vinyl combined with the cassette edition of "Ve Luan Tram" marks the first time in 20 years that she has released a new CD or tape product, and this is also Cam Van's fourth album of Trinh Cong Son's music after Hue Saigon Hanoi , Please give me, Please the sun sleeps peacefully. "The feeling is hard to describe: nervous, excited, and looking forward to presenting it to everyone" - singer Cam Van happily said.
Trinh's music with blues and jazz colors
Considered the leading bird of the post-1975 generation of singers, singer Cam Van's singing career is associated with many songs by musician Trinh Cong Son (February 28, 1939 - April 1, 2001). Since the early 1980s, she was encouraged by Trinh Cong Son himself, musician Bao Phuc, and singer Khanh Ly, creating conditions for her to sing love songs such as Ha Trang, Diem Xua, Xin Mat Troi Ngu Yen...
"The delicate, profound and meaningful harmonies give me new emotions when singing Trinh's familiar music" - singer Cam Van said. |
With a strong, warm voice and a specialty in lyrical songs, singer Cam Van, when associated with the compositions of musician Trinh Cong Son, has been loved by the public for decades. Now, after many ups and downs, Cam Van sings Trinh's music with a new attitude. She confided: "After more than 730 days of incubation, 10 dedicated artists traveled tens of thousands of kilometers with Cam Van between Vietnam, Germany and the US to complete an album of vinyl records that could not be more satisfying. Finally, Cam Van's first vinyl record project is completed!"
The album Vet lan tram (released by Tuan Trinh Productions) was produced by Viet Thinh and completely remixed by musician Nguyen Cong Phuong Nam (aka Vincent Nguyen). Therefore, singer Cam Van recorded famous Trinh Cong Son songs such as Vet lan tram, Con tuoi nao cho em, Song ve dau, Ca dao me, Nhu canh vac bay, Lu ta ngam ngui, Nguoi gia va em be... with a subtle "new coat", with the colors of blues, jazz, ballad, new variations "both familiar and strange" as the female artist herself commented.
“With the vinyl album Vet roan tram, once again, Cam Van has the honor to sing loudly and leave behind memories with the classic songs of musician Trinh Cong Son, but with a completely different way of singing and performing. Cam Van this time is “both strange and familiar” - singer Cam Van shared.

Different mindset and experience
Singer Cam Van happily said: "Once again, Cam Van is honored to sing loudly and leave behind memories with the classic songs of musician Trinh Cong Son, but with a completely different way of singing and performing." Most prominent is the simplicity, depth and mellow narrative in the voice and powerful performance of singer Cam Van through the album Vet lan tram.
This passionate project of singer Cam Van and her collaborators is a highlight of an artist with depth and breadth in singing, along with understanding and sympathy for Trinh's music over the years. Singer Cam Van's passion, seriousness, and meticulousness on stage and in real life have contributed to her becoming one of the most successful singers performing Trinh's music after Khanh Ly.

The female artist shared: “Singing Trinh’s music in a slightly blues-jazz style and recording live with the band was one of the challenges that Cam Van had to “overcome” to complete the album. Because before, Trinh Cong Son’s love songs that were familiar to the audience tended to be in a rustic acoustic style from the instruments to the vocals. Therefore, the audience can feel Trinh Cong Son’s love songs more deeply in a different mindset, a different thought, a different experience.”
Singer Cam Van explains that the vinyl format of "Vet roan tram" with analog sound always brings a warm, emotional feeling to the listener: "For Cam Van, vinyl is nostalgia, it is Dad, Mom, childhood, it is the indescribable emotions when I first hold my own vinyl in my hand. It is not only where Cam Van can express her most genuine "rustic" quality, but through this, Cam Van wants to send to the audience, music lovers through a special vinyl so that everyone can own it, admire and enjoy it completely with a little bit of Cam Van's novelty this time".
The rolling mark is also considered the "cake" to celebrate the 65th birthday of singer Cam Van (she was born on May 31). The "unforgettable" voice that touched the hearts of many generations of music listeners is still attached to Trinh music shows such as the Peaceful Children's Songs concert on April 1 at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, with the participation of Cam Van, Tran Manh Tuan, Duc Tuan, Tan Son, Ho Trung Dung... "I still keep trying with important support from behind like my husband Khac Trieu, my two children Cece Truong and Tiff Truong" - singer Cam Van emotionally expressed.
