(NLDO) - The entire city of Da Nang has more than 10,000 state-owned social housing apartments, accounting for more than 70% of the total number of state-owned social housing apartments nationwide.
On the afternoon of December 12, at the meeting of the People's Council of Da Nang City, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the City People's Committee, informed about the issue of social housing apartments in the area.
According to Mr. Chinh, in the city there are many apartment buildings built more than 10 years ago, arranged for people in difficult circumstances to rent. Among them, many people do not have means of transportation, not even bicycles.
However, up to now, many of them have better economic conditions, can buy motorbikes and some even buy cars.
Many state-owned social housing apartments in Da Nang City are seriously degraded.
The Chairman of Da Nang said that the above apartment projects are expected to have no parking space because the tenants are people in difficult circumstances. "Now, the development of society is a good thing. But at the same time, we must consider that officials and people with conditions must return their apartments to the state" - Mr. Chinh expressed.
According to Mr. Chinh, first of all, as officials, we must set an example and return the apartment to reserve this place for those who do not have the conditions.
In addition, the city also allocates funds each year to repair apartment buildings. Therefore, Mr. Chinh expressed his hope that social housing tenants must be responsible for state assets. Not only using and managing them, but also regularly repairing and preserving them so that public assets can last longer.
For the three degraded apartment complexes including Lam Dac San Hoa Cuong, Thuan Phuoc and Hoa Minh, the city has issued a relocation plan. However, the implementation process is slow and not on schedule.
Mr. Chinh requested the district and county land clearance committees to speed up the compensation work. In case people want to move early, the city is ready to arrange it.
Da Nang City has more than 10,000 state-owned social housing apartments, accounting for more than 70% of the total number of state-owned social housing apartments nationwide.
In 2024, the city will continue to deploy social housing apartments for people with revolutionary contributions on Vu Mong Nguyen Street (Ngu Hanh Son District), with an estimated 209 apartments.
In addition, the city will convert the function of the western dormitory area and Hoa Khanh industrial urban area into social housing, with an estimated 608 units.
