Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí26/03/2025

(Dan Tri) - According to the staff of An Giang Radio and Television Station, in their decades of working, they have never been in such a difficult and deprived situation as they are now.

On March 26, many press agencies received a distress call believed to be from a group of reporters, editors, and technicians of An Giang Radio and Television Station. The petition was also sent to the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province.

According to the petition, the collective of reporters, editors, and technicians of An Giang Radio and Television Station have faced prolonged difficulties as the station has not paid salaries and royalties from June 2023 until now.

"Family life is disrupted, no more money to spend, worry about children's education, old parents cannot support, not only worry about food and clothing but also have to borrow money to buy gas for business trips, then add bad debt to the bank... Up to now, it's been 22 months, we still haven't received remuneration or royalties. We are also owed salary. In 2024, there was a time when we were owed 6 months of salary.

By the end of March 2025, we had only received 50% of our February 2025 salary. In our decades of working, there has never been a time like now, when sometimes the agency paid half a month's salary, sometimes a third of a month, holding the money and crying" , the petition stated.

Talking to Dan Tri reporter, a leader of An Giang Radio and Television Station said that they have received the information and will inform the press later.

Previously, a group of reporters, editors, and technicians from Can Tho City Radio and Television Station (Can Tho City Radio and Television Station) also filed a petition for help because they were owed royalties and business expenses for 20 months.

According to the petition, the station's staff have been owed royalties and business expenses since August 2023. This has made their lives difficult.

"For nearly 20 months, we have gritted our teeth and endured, suppressed our pain, and tried to understand the difficulties of the agency. But the silence and indifference have worn down our strength and drained our faith. Family life is in turmoil, we don't have enough money to spend, and we have had long sleepless nights worrying about making ends meet.

There were days when we had to starve to save every penny, there were long nights of tossing and turning worrying about tomorrow's meal. Business trips that should have been a source of pride and responsibility now became a nightmare when we didn't have enough money for gas and transportation. We had to borrow money everywhere, had to run around for every penny just to complete the assigned tasks," the petition read.

Also according to the petition: "The meager salaries are not enough to cover our living expenses, and the outstanding royalties and business expenses have caused us to fall into poverty and misery."

Regarding this petition, a leader of Can Tho Radio and Television Station said that the station still paid full salaries to staff at the beginning of the month. As for royalties, they were only paid late, not unpaid.

Speaking with Dan Tri, a reporter from Can Tho City Radio and Television Station said that the royalties and business expenses for 20 months that the station has not paid to this person up to now is more than 200 million VND.
