Kon Tum officials register their children for too many 'key' schools, making it difficult for Quang Ngai to assign classes

According to the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai province, the department has received more than 600 applications from Kon Tum officials for their children to study at schools in Quang Ngai after the merger of the two provinces.

Arranging classes for kindergarten and high school is very easy when high schools in Quang Ngai city have enough capacity to receive and parents' registration is also harmonious.

Primary and secondary schools in particular face many difficulties as most Kon Tum province officials register their children to study at Nguyen Nghiem and Tran Hung Dao schools.

Meanwhile, Nghia Lo, Chanh Lo, Nghia Chanh, Le Hong Phong, Tran Phu, Quang Phu schools... have "sparse" registration applications despite having spacious facilities and similar educational quality.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai province - said that the spirit and responsibility of the unit is to create the best conditions and try to arrange the most suitable conditions for the children of Kon Tum officials to study in Quang Ngai.

The Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai City also directed schools to "absolutely not accept new students on their own" but must follow the arrangements of superiors.

At the same time, Mr. Hung said he sympathized with and understood the hardships of Kon Tum officials after the two provinces merged. The Provincial Party Committee also directed to create the most favorable and best conditions for children of Kon Tum officials to study. Therefore, there was no problem with arranging schools and classes to cause difficulties.

"We can arrange to spread out to all schools ourselves. The biggest worry is that Kon Tum officials misunderstood when registering for one school and then arranged for another school. But the large number of registrations for Nguyen Nghiem and Tran Hung Dao really put pressure on us. We hope to receive sharing and understanding," said Mr. Hung.

The most harmonious arrangement, according to Mr. Hung, is for staff working in units with headquarters located near a school to arrange for their children to attend that school, or arrange for them to be near their place of residence for convenient pick-up and drop-off.

In fact, primary and secondary schools in Quang Ngai City are currently of similar quality and are located within a radius of about 3km, very convenient.

Quang Ngai province hopes that Kon Tum officials register other wishes for their children and understand Quang Ngai's arrangement. Because all are directed to prioritize Kon Tum officials' children to study conveniently and in accordance with their parents' work.

1,000 officials from Kon Tum return to Quang Ngai city to work

After the merger of Quang Ngai - Kon Tum, the new Quang Ngai province has an area of ​​over 14,800km2 (the 5th largest in the country), a population of nearly 2.2 million people, with 96 commune-level administrative units, the provincial capital is located in Quang Ngai city today.

According to statistics from the functional sector, after the merger, there will be about 1,000 cadres from Kon Tum to work in Quang Ngai City. In recent times, the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee has paid great attention to the education of children of Kon Tum cadres, so it has continuously directed and required units to do this work well.

The education sector of Quang Ngai province also reviewed and prepared plans to arrange schools and classes, but difficulties have arisen as the schools are too crowded and no one has registered.
