Two T54 tanks were brought into My Dinh Stadium to be used as props for the national-level political and artistic program "North-South Promise".
After about 30 minutes of arriving at My Dinh Stadium, the two tanks moved into their assembly position near Stand A.
Speaking to Thanh Nien newspaper , Colonel Pham Van Tu, Director of the Military Radio and Television Center, said that the T54 tank was used by our army during the resistance war against the US. Therefore, including two tanks in the program allows viewers, especially young people, to experience the reality and ferocity of war and the sacrifices made by our ancestors to bring peace to the country.
According to Mr. Tú, bringing tanks onto the Mỹ Đình stadium was very difficult because the track, originally used for athletics competitions, had a very soft surface. The unit had to use track markers to lay down for the tanks to run on.
"The tanks in the program will perform a live show symbolizing support for the Southern battlefield and will appear in the song 'Five Brothers on a Tank ,' depicting us being ambushed and the tanks launching an attack on the enemy," Mr. Tu revealed.

The T54 tank, numbered 173, was transported to My Dinh Stadium by a KZKT tank transport vehicle.
