At the end of 2022, the Lien Chieu port construction project - a shared infrastructure part, was started with a total investment of more than 3,400 billion VND.

Lien Chieu Port is located at the foot of Hai Van Pass (in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City), with the South bordering the Cu De River estuary and the East bordering Da Nang Bay.

This is one of the three key deep-water seaports in Vietnam, planned to become a special port, capable of receiving general cargo and bulk cargo ships with a capacity of up to 100,000 tons, and container ships from 6,000 to 8,000 TEU.

The project is divided into two components: Component A is shared infrastructure invested by the State; Component B includes container ports to be implemented by domestic and foreign investors under the public-private partnership model.

According to the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects of Da Nang City (investor), up to now, the Lien Chieu port construction project has reached 85.6% of the volume value. The traffic road connecting to the port gate, with a scale of 6 lanes, 30m wide has been synchronized and is waiting for asphalt paving.

Lien Chieu Port is oriented to become an international gateway port, attracting large shipping and logistics companies. This is a seaport that can receive large ships, has the capacity to access, transport, and transit container goods with other seaports in the world .

The port's operation will reduce the load on Tien Sa port, reduce pressure on road traffic passing through Da Nang city, strengthen regional and inter-regional connectivity, and contribute to the sustainable socio -economic development of Da Nang and the region.
