At the Auto Guangzhou 2025 auto show, the Mazda EZ-6 right-hand drive version was officially launched and developed specifically for the Chinese market. This is the result of strategic cooperation between Mazda and ChangAn, based on the Deepal L07 electric vehicle platform, but with refined design and technology to create a sedan with a strong Mazda style. Although it is called the EZ-6 in China, this model will be exported to international markets under the name Mazda 6e, with some adjustments to the battery configuration and charging system to suit the standards of each country. In Thailand, the Mazda 6e is expected to be officially introduced at the Motor Expo 2025 event on November 28, 2025, opening up the opportunity to access the premium electric sedan line for the Southeast Asian market.
The Mazda EZ-6 in the Chinese domestic market is offered in two versions. The Standard Range version is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum output of 258 horsepower, 320 Nm of torque, comes with a 68.8 kWh battery pack and rear-wheel drive (RWD). This model has a maximum range of 530 km according to the NEDC standard. Meanwhile, the Long Range version uses the same rear-wheel drive structure but is optimized to increase operating range. Power is slightly reduced to 244 horsepower, torque remains at 320 Nm, while battery capacity is increased to 80 kWh, allowing the car to travel up to 600 km on a single charge - a very impressive number in the current electric sedan segment. In terms of appearance, the all-electric sedan Mazda 6e is about to launch in Southeast Asia as well as the EZ-6 version in China. The car is designed in the style of a 5-door fastback, bringing a modern and seamless look, while still maintaining the spirit of the familiar KODO language.
Inside the cabin, Mazda equips the 6e with a 14.6-inch central entertainment screen, a 10.2-inch digital clock cluster and a head-up display (HUD). The car has 3-zone automatic air conditioning, wireless charging and a fixed panoramic sunroof. The entertainment system with 14-speaker Sony sound system is a technological highlight. Brown suede-trimmed leather seats with Diamond Cut pattern, with "Zero Gravity" reclining feature in the front seats for increased comfort. The entire active safety system is encapsulated in i-ACTIVSENSE along with many new driving assistance technologies. The Mazda 6e electric sedan measures 4,921 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, 1,491 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,895 mm. The rear luggage compartment has a capacity of 330 - 1,074 liters depending on the seat position, while the front has an additional small storage compartment of 70 liters.
Although the Mazda 6e will be officially distributed in Thailand, the car will still be imported completely from China, with no plans to assemble it domestically. This comes from the current preferential policy of the Thai government , allowing 100% electric cars imported from China to enjoy a 0% tax rate, creating ideal conditions for electric car manufacturers to expand their market share. Mazda has not yet revealed the specific price and configuration for the Thai market, expected to be announced when the Motor Expo 2025 opens on November 28. According to many sources, the Mazda 6e may also be brought to Vietnam soon in 2026. However, charging station infrastructure will be a barrier for this electric car model.
