Language is an extremely precious asset of each nation, a manifestation of the character, courage, soul and eternal vitality of a nation. Preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language is a long-term task, with many difficulties and complications, and must be done regularly and continuously.

We need to preserve the purity of Vietnamese language.

Since its inception, our Party has attached great importance to preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language. This is most clearly demonstrated through the Party's policies and the State's laws. When issuing policies and guidelines, in addition to paying attention to the content, our Party and State attach great importance to the wording so that the policies are easy for the people to read, understand and implement.

Resolution of the 9th Conference of the 11th Party Central Committee on "building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development" stated: "Development must go hand in hand with preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language; overcoming the abuse of foreign languages".

President Ho Chi Minh is a typical example in preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language. On September 2, 1945, at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi, when reading the Declaration of Independence, Uncle asked: "Can you hear me clearly?" Or as in the Call for National Resistance in 1946 and later, in all of his speeches and writings, they were very concise, simple, and clear, and all groups and ages could understand them. President Ho Chi Minh once advised: " Language is an extremely ancient and extremely precious asset of the nation. We must preserve it, cherish it, and make it develop more and more widely."

Nowadays, we are integrating internationally more and more comprehensively and deeply. Everyone knows that to integrate well, many conditions are needed, both subjective and objective. Among them, a very important condition is to know a foreign language. Knowing a foreign language is necessary to work and research in the fields of politics, economics, culture and society to better access modern technology of other countries, thereby integrating better, contributing to the development of the country.

Over 30 years of implementing the national renovation initiated and led by our Party, we have achieved many comprehensive and excellent results. There are many reasons for these good results, including the important contribution of preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language.

However, in the past and present, the preservation of the purity of Vietnamese language has not been really paid attention to and respected in some areas. The way of using words, expressions; expressing in a sentence, a paragraph or some content of program activities is still arbitrary in both speaking and writing. Although our Vietnamese language is very rich and expressive, some people still prefer to use foreign languages. For example, some of our kindergartens still name their schools: Vietkids, Happy Home ... Or some goods produced by Vietnamese people, Vietnamese materials, Vietnamese technology, but all use names and labels that are difficult to understand. Or some names of medicines in drug stores; some products produced in our country are sold in supermarkets. Then the names of some businesses are abbreviated and not abbreviated, using foreign languages not foreign languages ...

The above words, Vietnamese and our Vietnamese language have the ability and are more than enough to express, helping everyone understand why we don't use them?

In our country today, about 75% of the population still works in agriculture and lives in rural areas. Cultural and spiritual life has really improved, but not everyone is qualified to receive such information.

To contribute to preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language, as Uncle Ho always wished, should there be a general regulation that when speaking and writing, all must use Vietnamese. In special cases, only those contents that cannot be expressed in Vietnamese must be borrowed from foreign languages. There must be a general consensus when translating and using foreign words in the mass media. Goods 100% produced in our country, 100% of our agencies and schools established in our country must use Vietnamese when advertising or using signs; goods produced in joint ventures or partnerships with foreign countries are allowed to be abbreviated, but must also have an explanation after the abbreviation. There must be regulations for praising, criticizing, rewarding, and punishing individuals, agencies, and units that do well and do not do well in preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language.

Our Vietnamese language is very rich and beautiful, an extremely rich treasure that our ancestors fought and preserved for thousands of years. Preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language is also a demonstration of patriotism, national pride, and a practical action in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style.
