Phuoc An Port, with an area of 183 hectares and a total investment of nearly 20,000 billion VND, is considered the largest seaport in Dong Nai and is expected to begin phase 1 of operation from the end of November.
Phuoc An Port is located on the bank of Thi Vai River in Nhon Trach District (Dong Nai). It is the largest seaport in Dong Nai Province with an area of 183 hectares and a total investment of nearly 20,000 billion VND.
In particular, the port subdivision has a total length of more than 3km, including 6 container terminals and 4 general terminals capable of receiving ships with a capacity of 60,000 DWT.
In addition to the port area, the logistics service area of over 550 hectares includes about 25 works such as: empty container yard, repair workshop, bonded warehouse, accommodation area, container import and export yard...
When put into operation, Phuoc An port will be able to simultaneously handle containers and general cargo, with a capacity of 2.5 million TEUs (1 TEU is equivalent to a 20-foot container) and 6.5 million tons of cargo per year.
Phuoc An Port is part of the seaport group No. 5 - the seaport system in the Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau region, which was approved by the Prime Minister for detailed planning in August 2005 and approved the planning for the development of the Vietnam seaport system to 2020, with a vision to 2030.
Road to Phuoc An port, connecting the port with Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway.
When put into operation, Phuoc An port will become an important logistics center of the Southern region. This seaport is expected to contribute to the development of Dong Nai's logistics industry, attract large enterprises to register for customs procedures, and contribute to increasing local budget revenue from import and export.
