The administrative and political center of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (old) with an investment capital of more than 1,000 billion VND, is proposed to be converted into an educational facility. This proposal comes from the fact that after the merger, many departments and officials have moved to work in Ho Chi Minh City.

The administrative and political center of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is located in Phuoc Trung ward (old Ba Ria city), now Ba Ria ward, Ho Chi Minh City, on an area of ​​about 20 hectares. The project started in 2009 and was completed in 2012 with a total investment of more than 1,000 billion VND from the local budget.

The center consists of 6 clusters of 5-6 storey buildings, built according to a centralized model, unified in architecture. The project is designed to meet the operational needs of the administrative, state and political blocks of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (old), including: Conference Center, headquarters of the Party and mass organizations, headquarters of the government, headquarters of the People's Committee - Provincial Party Committee.

In addition, the center also invests in synchronous auxiliary items and technical infrastructure such as: regulating lake, water supply and drainage system, electricity system, green campus, surveillance cameras, etc.

The building is the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (old), on both sides are rows of office blocks of departments and branches.

Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance has issued a document updating, adjusting and supplementing the plan to arrange and allocate operating facilities for the units after the arrangement in the area. Notably, it proposed the plan to use the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative - Political Center to hand over to the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Previously, the Department also proposed a plan to arrange this headquarters for Saigon University to use as a training facility. According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance, currently many departments, agencies and sectors have relocated and concentrated their work in Ho Chi Minh City and only use a small part of the center's area to handle transition work.

According to VietNamNet reporters, after more than 13 years of operation, the administrative and political center of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is still spacious and modern with infrastructure and landscape regularly maintained and cared for.

The old Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Convention Center building is located in the administrative center campus, where important local meetings and events take place.

Located among the building clusters, the highlight is a lake of more than 1 hectare that helps improve the air and create landscape.

According to observations, currently the buildings belonging to the Party and mass organizations are almost deserted, the parking areas are empty.

The office building of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Federation of Labor is now deserted with officials and people coming in and out.

Meanwhile, at the administrative headquarters buildings, some staff are still assigned to work to handle work at the base, but the number of people coming in and out to work and contact has decreased compared to before the merger.

Workers pick up leaves and take care of the lawn inside the administrative center campus.

According to the Management Board of the Administrative - Political Center of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, after the merger, maintenance and landscape care activities at the center are still carried out regularly, keeping the project neat and clean.
