iPhone input prices have not increased, cautiously responding to tariff developments from the US

At the meeting, MWG representative said that the total revenue last month reached 12,500 billion VND, an increase of more than 8% over the same period last year. Thus, the total revenue in the first four months of 2025 is estimated at more than 48,590 billion VND, the recovery momentum took place in many major retail chains.

In response to concerns about the US tariff policy imposed on Vietnam, Mr. Vu Dang Linh - General Director of MWG - affirmed that there has been no significant impact on the company so there is no adjustment to this year's business target. The company also does not depend on exports, mainly focusing on the domestic market with 100 million people and gradually improving purchasing power.

“Although the situation is a bit challenging, the company (MWG) and Vietnam are still in a good position. MWG is doing everything to ensure stable operations,” said Robert Alan Willett, a non-executive member of the board of directors. Confident, the company is also taking the necessary flexible and cautious steps.

Regarding the cooperation with Apple, the company's leaders said that they have invested a lot in the past and are continuing to maintain and develop the partnership, bringing benefits to both parties. MWG aims to achieve revenue of 1 billion USD from Apple products by 2027.

In response to questions about iPhone price fluctuations, Mr. Vu Dang Linh said that the new tariff policy could affect some areas in the US. However, most iPhones are currently manufactured in Asia (including Vietnam), and MWG does not see any increase in input prices.

What to do to reduce the risk of counterfeit goods?

In addition to phones, laptops, and household appliances, many units under MWG also sell medicines, functional foods, milk, food, etc. Through the meeting, shareholders asked a burning question: In the context of counterfeit goods flooding the market today, MWG has many retail chains, so what plans does the company have to minimize risks?

Responding to shareholders, Mr. Vu Dang Linh affirmed that the company focuses on purchasing products from reputable suppliers in the market. During the cooperation process, binding conditions are implemented very strictly. "We do not buy goods floating on the market, that is our commitment," Mr. Linh said. This is to ensure the commitment on quality.

Regarding the 2025 plan, MWG aims to achieve VND 150,000 billion in net revenue and VND 4,850 billion in net profit after tax, up 12% and 30% respectively over the same period last year.

The company plans to pay a cash dividend of up to 10%, equivalent to VND1,000/share. Thus, with more than 1.46 billion shares in circulation, the total payment could be up to VND1,460 billion.

Regarding ensuring strong cash flow to serve core business activities, Mr. Linh said that the enterprise continues to prioritize investment in bank deposits, certificates of deposit and reputable corporate bonds.

With a long-term orientation, the company does not conduct M&A (mergers and acquisitions) with other businesses in the manufacturing sector. Currently, it still focuses on the retail sector, in which it closely and flexibly combines traditional and online sales channels.
