Forecast for the day and night of July 28, the Central Highlands and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10 - 30mm, locally over 70mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain is likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
In Vinh Long province, according to the provincial Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 3 hours, through monitoring satellite cloud images and Nha Be weather radar images, thunderstorms have occurred in communes/wards of Vinh Long province (Don Chau, Ngu Lac, Cai Nhum, Tan Ngai, Long Chau, Cho Lach...), convective clouds causing rain are existing in Can Tho city and Dong Thap province and continue to move to Vinh Long province.
Warning of possible occurrence: In the next few hours, this convective cloud area will continue to develop, causing showers and thunderstorms in some places in the communes and wards of Tan Luoc, Tan Quoi, My Thuan, Binh Minh, Cai Von, Dong Thanh, Ngai Tu, Cai Ngang, Song Phu, Phu Quoi, Long Ho, Binh Phuoc , Cai Nhum, An Binh, Long Chau, Tan Hanh, Tan Ngai, Phuoc Hau, Thanh Duc, Phu Phung, Cho Lach, Tan Phu, Long Hoa, Long Thanh, Dong Hai, Duyen Hai and neighboring wards/communes.
Estimated rainfall is from 2 - 5 mm, some places over 5 mm. During thunderstorms, be careful of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. Warning level of natural disaster risk due to tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind: Level 1.
