Cảnh Luân and his persistent breakthrough

Guided by hard work and discipline, Nguyen Canh Luan (29 years old, from Ho Chi Minh City) is increasingly achieving proud results on the path he has chosen.

Cảnh Luân is an English teacher with an IELTS score of 8.0 and a TOEIC score of 990. He is also a book author and a popular social media content creator among young people.

Continuous effort

From his school days, Luan cultivated his concentration, patience, and diligence. According to him, for an individual to continuously develop and achieve memorable milestones, they need self-belief and decisive action. Whenever he has a new idea, Luan will create a detailed plan to execute it. His serious mindset and consistent lifestyle have greatly benefited him on his journey to maturity.

Luan is a former student of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted. He was admitted to the Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City and received a full scholarship from RMIT University Vietnam. Luan chose to study at both universities simultaneously until his third year, when he participated in a student exchange program at RMIT Australia for two semesters. In 2016, after graduating from RMIT, Luan was retained as a research assistant there while continuing his studies at the Foreign Trade University. In 2019, Luan graduated from the Foreign Trade University and just one year later, he established an English language center. His courses, designed to meet the diverse needs of the community, quickly attracted thousands of students.

Cảnh Luân provided a wealth of interesting and useful information to the public in the program "English for Travel , the Key to Expanding Global Opportunities" organized by Zenbooks on April 5th.

In 2024, Canh Luan released his bilingual poetry collection "Someone Will Love Me So Much" and received much positive feedback from readers. It can be said that meticulousness and a diligent work ethic are the keys to Canh Luan's success, regardless of his goals or stage of life.

A desire to serve

Beyond his passion for teaching, Luan also dedicates himself to content creation. His TikTok channel, with approximately 406,000 followers and 24 million likes, is filled with helpful psychological situations, stories, and knowledge. Thanks to his long and thorough research into mental health, as well as over a year of psychological counseling with a professional, he possesses a deep understanding and awareness in this field. "With friends and family, I can help them find the right path when they seek my advice. With students, I inspire them to be more resilient. With the community, I hope the content I create benefits as many people as possible," Luan shared.

True to his philosophy of providing practical and useful content for everyone, even without chasing trendy fads or using elaborate special effects in filming and editing, Canh Luan's videos still have their own unique appeal, and his channel continues to grow.

As a teacher, content creator, author, and lifelong learner, Luân believes that the main common goal is always to share knowledge, even though the forms, methods, and audiences may differ.

Luan is currently working on a special project that will soon be launched: a series of podcasts featuring interviews with expert and reputable guests from various industries, aiming to provide insightful perspectives and insights to the public. In addition, Luan and his colleagues continue to invest in and design more effective and suitable courses for Vietnamese people.

Recently, Luan launched a rather unique publication in the domestic market, which doesn't have many IELTS books written by Vietnamese authors. The book, "IELTS Speaking Journey - Speak your way to band 6.0" (published by Zenbooks), summarizes many valuable lessons and experiences from Luan's 10 years of dedication and passion for teaching IELTS. "The creation of this book stems from my strong desire to share knowledge and help students who want to self-study," Luan explains. His years of studying at various schools and his educational experiences both in Vietnam and abroad have given him the foundation for developing his own teaching methods and guiding his writing.

The most important lesson Luân learned from becoming an author is the balance between what he has and what the readers need. Recognizing that most English textbooks on the market today are written for all English learners worldwide and therefore lack localization, Luân strived to create a new format for this book to truly suit and be effective for Vietnamese learners.
