Coast Guard proactively deploys response plans for storm No. 9

In order to proactively prepare for the complicated developments of super typhoon No. 9 (Ragasa), on the morning of September 24, Major General Tran Van Tho, Commander of Coast Guard Region 1, inspected preparations for preventing, combating and responding to the super typhoon at agencies and units.

Previously, on the afternoon of September 23, all ships and boats of the unit left the port and headed to the storm shelter area to ensure safety.

The Head of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command inspected the plans and plans for mobilizing forces, vehicles, command and communication systems, equipment, and work to ensure safety in preventing, combating, and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 9. Major General Tran Van Tho highly appreciated the units' proactive and active implementation of storm prevention and combat measures; the system of barracks, warehouses, weapons, and equipment was stably and firmly secured; the system of trees was trimmed, and the drainage was cleared; all types of billboards and signs were removed to ensure safety; the mobile teams ensured the number of personnel and were ready to carry out the mission.

The Regional Commander requested agencies and units to strictly maintain on-duty regimes, ensure uninterrupted communication; proactively monitor and grasp the storm's developments; continue to thoroughly grasp telegrams and instructions from superiors; organize reviews, adjustments and supplements to plans; provide sufficient equipment and materials for storm and flood prevention, search and rescue, prepare forces and means to respond promptly and effectively when situations arise and ensure safety in all aspects. Proactively coordinate closely with local Party committees and authorities in the stationed areas, be ready to help people respond, and minimize damage caused by the storm to the people.

For ships anchored in shelter areas, Major General Tran Van Tho requested the commander of Squadron 11 to direct ships to prepare storm prevention plans, search and rescue plans, be ready to mobilize when situations arise, ensure safety, and minimize damage caused by storms.
