Coast Guard promptly brought foreign ship crew members to Con Dao for emergency treatment

On the morning of February 26, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command mobilized forces and vehicles to rescue and bring the crew members on the foreign ship safely ashore.

The sailor in distress at sea was rescued promptly.

Previously, at 6:30 p.m. on February 25, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command received information from the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region 3 about the Danisa oil tanker, Panamanian nationality, on its way to China, with a crew member suspected of having appendicitis. The incident occurred about 111 nautical miles south-southeast of Con Dao.

Due to the crew member's critical condition, the ship changed course to Con Dao to bring the crew member ashore for emergency treatment. It is expected that at around 2 a.m. on February 26, the ship will anchor about 1.5 nautical miles from Con Dao.

Crew member Dao Van Quang has symptoms of acute appendicitis.

Immediately after receiving the request for assistance, at 1:30 a.m. on February 26, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 dispatched Coast Guard ship 2011 to carry out the mission. Accompanying the ship were a medical team and staff from the Military and Civilian Medical Center of Con Dao District.

At 2:50 a.m., Coast Guard ship 2011 docked alongside the Danisa ship and received and brought crew member Dao Van Quang (born in 1985, from Nghe An ) onto Coast Guard ship 2011 for initial first aid. After that, the organization took him to the Military and Civilian Medical Center of Con Dao district for emergency treatment. The victim had symptoms of acute appendicitis.
