On January 29, Royal Thai Police Chief General Kitrat Phanphet signed an order to establish a police center to combat "influential figures", hired assassins and high-level criminals.

The “influential figures” here are defined as those who lend money at high interest rates; rig bids and obstruct public bidding processes; extort money from service businesses and entertainment venues; and smuggle goods to evade taxes.
Also included are subjects involved in operating illegal gambling activities (including underground betting, illegal lotteries and online gambling); involved in human trafficking, forced prostitution and child exploitation; involved in illegal entry and stay; involved in defrauding citizens working abroad, defrauding tourists ; hiring assassins.
In addition, these are debt collectors who use force or threats; smuggle weapons, including those who possess guns and explosives; are involved in encroachment on public lands and destruction of natural resources and the environment; extortion by acting as intermediaries or protecting crimes on highways or public roads; are involved in drug trafficking, including drug protectors, drug dealers and debt collectors; are involved in human trafficking organizations.
Accordingly, the Bangkok government has appointed Deputy Director General of the Royal Thai Police, General Prajuab Wongsuk, as Director of the center and Lieutenant General Akkaradech Pimonsri, Assistant Director General, as Deputy Director. A number of police officers with expertise in investigating and suppressing crimes have been included in the center's task force.
