Members of the HCM City women's team leadership share about this recruitment round
On the morning of June 3, the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club held a recruitment session to search for young faces. This is also the third recruitment session, after the two regions of Dong Thap and Buon Ma Thuot in 2025.
This recruitment round of Ho Chi Minh City Club gathers many young female players (12-14 years old) from neighboring provinces and cities.
Particularly notable among them are a pair of twin sisters from Phuoc Binh, Trang Bang town, Tay Ninh province. These two sisters are Nguyen Tran Thuy Hoa (midfielder) and Nguyen Tran Thuy Hoang (goalkeeper), born in 2012.
These two young female players are special because they were selected in 2024, but withdrew after only 3 days of training, before signing the training contract, due to being away from their families.
However, both of them failed the entrance exam this year and were in tears.
After a conversation with the selection committee members, the family successfully helped the two sisters receive a second chance. However, the sisters will have to work hard to prove themselves in the coming time, otherwise they will have to say goodbye to the team and return home.
This morning's admissions session also encountered some difficulties because of a sudden rain that interrupted it for nearly 30 minutes.
The young female players were also quickly re-tested when the weather improved with more than 50 contestants competing.
After many rounds of testing, the HCMC Women's Club selected 11 best faces, along with a pair of twin sisters from Tay Ninh in the HCMC area. Previously, the team recruited in Dong Thap with 60 candidates, selecting 12 and Buon Ma Thuot with more than 50 candidates, selecting 8.
The selection round was evaluated by the coaches of the first team, the youth team and midfielder Thuy Trang when coach Kim Chi is in charge of the coaching staff of the Vietnamese women's team. At the end of this selection round, 13 young female players will compete with 20 players from the two previous regions in one more round to select the 10 best faces.
