Highlights Alcaraz 3-1 Ben Shelton
In the fourth round of Roland Garros, Carlos Alcaraz faced American Ben Shelton, who is known for his powerful serves. Both started the match with enthusiasm and did not lose a break in the first set, forcing a tie-break.
Shelton took a 4-1 lead and had two chances to close out the set, but Alcaraz stubbornly saved the day and made a dramatic comeback to win 10-8, closing out the first set 7-6.

Set 2 continued to be tense when Shelton had 6 break opportunities in the first game but could not take advantage. Alcaraz then took the lead with a decisive break in game 8 and won 6-3.
Pushed into a must-win position, Shelton stepped up his game in set three and broke in game four. Although Alcaraz regained his lead shortly after, a late error in the set cost him another break, losing 4-6.
The final set saw Shelton's fitness decline, while Alcaraz distributed his strength properly and played more effectively with deep topspin shots.
The Spaniard earned the only break in the set, winning 6-4 and closing out the match 3-1. In the quarter-finals of Roland Garros, the second seed will face Tommy Paul.
This is the 100th victory on clay at ATP tournaments for the Spanish player.
