The first pedestrian bridge across the most beautiful canal in Ho Chi Minh City is about to operate

(Dan Tri) - The pedestrian bridge across Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal is about to be put into operation, helping people travel more conveniently and creating landscape on both banks.

From above, the pedestrian bridge across Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal connecting Hoang Sa street (District 1) and Truong Sa street (Binh Thanh district) is basically completed.

The pedestrian bridge across Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal is 50m long and 2m wide, part of the 220kV Tao Dan - Tan Cang underground cable project, invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation.

The bridge was built with a total investment of about 10 billion VND, with a 3-span reinforced concrete structure.

According to Dan Tri reporter, the bridge has completed the tiling, protective railing and access road items.

Inland waterway signs have been attached to both sides of the bridge.

Currently, this pedestrian bridge is still surrounded by corrugated iron and is not open to the public.

"Everyone here is looking forward to the opening of this bridge. With this pedestrian bridge, traveling between District 1 and Binh Thanh District will be more convenient," said Mr. Dinh Van Hung (living in Ward 13, Binh Thanh District).

This is the first pedestrian bridge across the Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal. One of the most beautiful canals in Ho Chi Minh City.

Under the bridge, garbage is piled up, causing loss of urban beauty.

Once this pedestrian bridge is completed, people on both banks of the Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal will be able to easily move back and forth, without having to go around Dien Bien Phu bridge or Thi Nghe bridge.

The representative of the Project Management Board said that the project has completed the tiling and railing items. Now, we are just waiting for the lighting to be installed and the bridge to be put into operation next week. "We are installing the warning light system, and it is expected that the bridge will be accepted and put into operation next week," the representative of this Project Management Board shared.

Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe Canal is nearly 10km long, flowing through Districts 1, 3, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Tan Binh. Currently, on the Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe Canal, there are 9 large bridges including: Thi Nghe Bridge, Dien Bien Phu Bridge, Bui Huu Nghia Bridge, Bong Bridge, Hoang Hoa Tham Bridge, Tran Khanh Du Bridge, Kieu Bridge, Cong Ly Bridge and Le Van Sy Bridge along with a number of small bridges numbered from 1 to 8.
