Last night, Croatia faced off against their direct rivals the Faroe Islands in Group L of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Europe. The checkered team only needs to win this match to automatically qualify for the tournament in the US, Canada and Mexico next year.

Finally, coach Zlatko Dalic's team completed the task when they defeated the "phenomenon" of the tournament, the Faroe Islands (who had won against Montenegro and the Czech Republic), with a score of 3-1. Thus, Croatia is the third team in Europe to win a ticket to the 2026 World Cup after England and France. In the coming days, the Old Continent will determine all 12 teams that will directly qualify for the 2026 World Cup. The remaining 4 spots will be determined through a series of play-off matches taking place in March next year.
