Recently, Korea has not allowed the import of carrots if the nematode Radopholus similis is detected. Meanwhile, Japan and Korea have both increased control of residues of active ingredients such as Hexaconazole, Tricyclazole, Difenoconazole, Paclobutrazol, etc.
To protect the Hai Phong carrot brand, the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection (Department of Agriculture and Environment) requested communes and wards in growing areas such as Tue Tinh, Thai Tan, Hop Tien, Tran Phu, An Phu, Chi Linh, Nam Dong, Le Dai Hanh, Nam Thanh Mien, Nguyen Trai, Nguyen Giap... to increase propaganda to farmers about the regulations of importing countries; maintain growing area codes; record production diaries and comply with techniques.
Farmers are required to treat the soil with biological products, increase organic fertilizers, and not use pesticides containing active ingredients Carbosulfan, Hexaconazole, Tricyclazole, Paclobutrazol, etc.; only use pesticides when absolutely necessary and ensure the correct quarantine period. Agricultural material dealers absolutely do not advise or sell products containing banned active ingredients.
The Department assigned specialized departments and stations to monitor residues in the fields, check the supply of pesticides, provide guidance on maintaining growing area codes, and disseminate new regulations of the Rotterdam Convention.
Purchasing enterprises are requested to review growing areas, provide instructions on the use of biological pesticides, update residue regulations from the Vietnam SPS warning system, RASFF (EU) and take samples for residue testing before purchasing.
