Intergenerational self-help clubs in Hai Duong operate effectively, are suitable for local elderly people and adapt to population aging. This is the conclusion made by the Hai Duong Association of the Elderly at the conference to summarize the Project to replicate the intergenerational self-help club model, phase 2021 - 2025 and the first 6 months of 2025.
The established clubs maintain regular monthly activities with many activities such as income generation, health care, home care based on volunteers, self-help and community support... This is a practical, effective and suitable model for the elderly in the locality. In particular, these activities have helped promote the role of caring for the elderly, especially for the poor, disadvantaged and homeless elderly.
The activities of the clubs are recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government and people.
From 2021 to present, Hai Duong province has had 109 intergenerational self-help clubs with a total of over 6,100 members, exceeding the plan by 39 clubs.
Of these, 60 clubs were established under the provincial project, 29 clubs were established under the HAI project, and 20 clubs were established from local funds and social mobilization. Currently, up to 75% of communes, wards, and towns have intergenerational self-help clubs.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly and the Association of the Elderly of Hai Duong province awarded 23 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the Project to replicate the model of intergenerational self-help clubs, period 2021 - 2025.
Hai Duong is one of the provinces and cities with a rapidly increasing elderly population. Currently, the whole province has 350,183 elderly people, accounting for over 17% of the province's population.
