According to the report, Vietnam is entering a period of rapid population aging, with people aged 60 and over expected to exceed 14% by 2025. Life expectancy is high but healthy people are few, while the elderly lack care services, exercise space and long-term support... requiring the development of a "silver economy " in a practical direction, suitable for each locality.

Tuyen Quang currently has 3,807 Elderly Associations in 3,803 villages and residential groups, with 177,915 members, reaching a rate of over 90% of the elderly participating in the Association. Many elderly people over 60 years old still work in production, participate in social work, and play a core role in campaigns and patriotic emulation movements in residential areas. With appropriate support mechanisms, the elderly can continue to contribute effectively to household economic development, vocational training, family traditions, and the construction of new rural areas. The most urgent needs at the grassroots level today are home health care services, regular activity clubs, rehabilitation exercise spaces, and safe living products for the elderly.

Delegates discussed 4 groups of contents: Completing the theoretical framework on "silver economy"; assessing the level of local readiness; sharing experiences; proposing solutions. Many opinions emphasized the development of friendly rural and urban infrastructure, encouraging suitable jobs for the elderly and building a management database right from the village and residential group.

The workshop agreed that developing the "silver economy" is an urgent requirement, especially in localities with a high rate of elderly people. When the elderly live healthy, happy lives and continue to contribute, the community will also be stable, connected and develop sustainably.
