At the training course, trainees were equipped with knowledge about the harmful effects of tobacco products (traditional cigarettes and new generation cigarettes) on health, economy and environment; as well as updated regulations in the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms and related documents. At the same time, grassroots cadres were instructed on how to build smoke-free workplaces. Measures such as: Developing smoking ban regulations, installing signs, organizing visual propaganda, monitoring and handling violations... were flexibly implemented, suitable to the conditions of each locality. Smoking is not only harmful to smokers but also seriously affects people around them through secondhand smoke, especially women and children. The use of new tobacco products with many flavors and chemicals also poses a risk of social evils, especially those related to drugs and addictive substances, causing negative impacts on the behavior, lifestyle of young people and social order.
The training not only contributes to raising awareness of the harmful effects of tobacco but also motivates each participating officer to become an active propagandist, strongly spreading the message of "Green - clean - smoke-free workplace". Building a healthy working environment is an important foundation to protect public health, improve labor productivity and demonstrate a sense of responsibility in implementing the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms.
