"Fat" Ronaldo is no longer the major shareholder of Real Valladolid.

Former Brazilian football star Ronaldo Nazario has officially withdrawn, ending a term as president that was considered controversial and had few achievements, according to Marca .

The deal, signed in Madrid, sees Ignite become the Castilian club's controlling shareholder with a 54.36% stake. Notably, Ben Oldman - who holds 33.26% of the shares - will have decision-making power thanks to an internal agreement with Ignite. The remainder belongs to Agora (9.65%) and minority shareholders, including the Valladolid City Council (2.73%).

The transfer officially ends a long period of uncertainty over the club’s ownership. Last summer, Ernesto Tinajero – who had competed with Ronaldo to buy the club in 2018 – almost completed the deal.

However, things only really became clear when Ignite, under the leadership of Gabriel Solares, appeared with a concrete proposal and enough financial weight to bring everything to an end. Before that, there were many rumors from Mexico, Egypt, the US... but all were just "transfer rumors" in the true sense.

Immediately after taking power, Valladolid’s new leadership planned to meet Mayor Jesús Julio Carnero – a move that demonstrates their desire to build a close relationship with the local government – before holding an official presentation to the media and wine country fans.

On the technical side, Gabriel Solares has given the green light for Victor Orta - former sporting director of Sevilla and Leeds United - to join the club in a similar role. In addition, coach Borja Jimenez is also being considered for the coaching staff, as part of a comprehensive renewal strategy from the top to the coaching bench.

The Ronaldo era ended in a mixture of regret and disappointment - with promotions and relegations, and a lack of depth in the sporting project. Now, Valladolid fans are hoping for a new start - more pragmatic, more systematic - under Gabriel Solares and Ignite Sports.
