First of all, this is the first year that students from kindergarten to high school nationwide are exempt from tuition fees, all children have the right to education.
Next, on the eve of the new school year 2025 - 2026, General Secretary To Lam signed and issued Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development; aiming to build a new generation of Vietnamese people with patriotism and national pride, with enough courage, intelligence, capacity, qualifications and health to meet the requirements of building and developing the country.
In the content of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW, in addition to stipulating the regular expenditure level from the budget for education and training to ensure at least 20% of the total state budget expenditure, what makes teachers happiest is the special and outstanding preferential policy for teachers.
Specifically, increase the preferential allowance for preschool and general education institutions to at least 70% for teachers, at least 30% for staff; 100% for teachers in especially difficult areas, border areas, islands, and ethnic minority areas.
With the preferential allowances prescribed above, the lives of cadres, teachers and employees at educational institutions have changed and improved significantly.
Each newly graduated teacher in the plains enjoys a salary coefficient of 2.34, with a preferential allowance of 70%, they will have a monthly income of nearly 10 million VND. As for teachers working in mountainous and island areas with an allowance of 100%, their salary will be double.
With such a starting salary when entering the profession, teachers can live with peace of mind with their income, helping teachers feel secure in their work and devote themselves to the career of "growing people".
On the other hand, the outstanding incentive mechanism of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW will attract talented and dedicated people to pedagogical schools, contributing to improving the quality of education and training.
The cause of "growing people" has always received special attention from the Party and the State, because this is the resource for social development, creating the country to stand shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the five continents.
In Da Nang city, the city authorities at all levels have had many outstanding preferential policies, paying special attention to education and training. Notably, the Project on Building, Upgrading and Expanding Schools in the period of 2021 - 2025 has been implemented drastically, ensuring the set progress, towards standardization, modernization and synchronization of schools.
Notably, from the 2021-2022 school year, Da Nang is one of the few localities in the country to exempt 100% of tuition fees for students from preschool to high school, to ensure that all students can study in the best conditions.
In addition, the training of key personnel is focused on by schools, excellent students at city and national levels have achieved good results with many high awards at national and international excellent student competitions, science and technology awards, etc.
After merging with Quang Nam province, Da Nang city has a strongly developed school network with 971 public schools and 212 non-public schools; 21,920 classes with a total of 670,744 students.
In order to consolidate schools and ensure good learning conditions for students, the city immediately started building primary and secondary boarding schools in border communes and remote areas.
At the same time, organizations and individuals actively support funding, teaching equipment, notebooks, pens, etc. for teachers and students of schools, to ensure good learning conditions for students from ethnic minorities and remote areas.
The 2025-2026 school year is defined by the Ministry of Education and Training as having the theme "Discipline - Creativity - Breakthrough - Development".
Following the outstanding results in teaching and learning in recent years, in the 2025-2026 school year, the city's education and training sector sets the goal of continuing to innovate and improve the quality of education; ensuring fairness in access to quality education for learners; developing a team of teachers and managers to meet the requirements of education and training innovation; improving the efficiency of state budget use, mobilizing investment resources to improve facilities; promoting the effective application of information technology in teaching and management; thereby expecting many positive signals in the coming time.
