Ba Dong Beach is located in Truong Long Hoa Commune, Duyen Hai Town, Tra Vinh Province, about 55 km southeast of Tra Vinh City. The beach is located between two estuaries Cung Hau (Tien River) and Dinh An (Hau River), facing the East Sea.

Biển Ba Động được hàng phi lao cao vút bao bọc, là nơi hiếm hoi có bãi cát trải dài hơn 10 km tại miền Tây.
Ba Dong Beach is surrounded by tall casuarina trees and is a rare place with a sandy beach stretching over 10 km in the West.

"Rare goods" in the Southwest region

Ba Dong Sea is special because it is the East Sea along the coast of the Mekong Delta provinces. This is an alluvial area, with many large and small river mouths, so most of it consists of mud flats and the water is not clear. In particular, Ba Dong Sea is a rare area in the Southwest region that is generously endowed by nature with a sandbank of more than 10 km long from Nha Mat Hamlet to Con Trung Hamlet.

Also because it is located in the alluvial sea area, the sand at Ba Dong beach is not pure white or golden yellow. The water at Ba Dong beach cannot be as clear as the beaches at Nha Trang or Vung Tau. However, if only counting along the East coast from Go Cong to Ca Mau , Ba Dong has beautiful sand beaches and quite clear sea water. Especially in the months after Tet, the waves are calm and the sea is calm, making it suitable for swimming, which many people love.

Most visitors to Ba Dong beach will prefer to… watch rather than swim. Ba Dong beach will not disappoint you when you can bring back many “cool” check-in photos.

The name itself arouses curiosity and exploration . According to the people living here, the beach is called Ba Dong because every time the tide rises and falls, three sand dunes (two small and one large) with unique shapes will appear on the beach. Many people sit and watch the tide to find those three sand dunes. It is unclear whether anyone can see the specific shape after many years of erosion, but not everyone can experience peaceful moments watching the tide in the hustle and bustle of life.

Ba Dong beach has not been exploited much for tourism, the water is not polluted, swimming here is quite safe. The most attractive thing is the rows of green trees stretching along the coast, creating a peaceful feeling.

Not far from Ba Dong beach are equally interesting places to visit, such as the mangrove forest next door or the Ba Dong wind power project about 1km away. The wind power project with the image of a prominent golden bridge and 12 wind turbines, is an extremely cool "virtual living background" for visitors from near and far. Every morning at dawn or when the afternoon sunset falls, from Ba Dong beach, we can admire the beauty of the 4km long bridge, casting the shadow of giant fan blades down to the vast coastline.

From Ba Dong, tourists can visit many other famous places such as Cung Hau seaport (bordering Tien Giang), Dinh An port (bordering Soc Trang) and admire the ancient architectural beauty of some churches built during the French colonial period, such as Giong Rum church and Phuoc Hao church.

Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the history and cultural depth of the coastal areas of Truong Long Hoa, Duyen Hai, Tra Vinh and enjoy the typical products of famous traditional craft villages such as Dong Cao Seabed Village, Con Cu Salt Village, and Ba Dong Watermelon Village.

Pocket guide to Ba Dong beach tourism

Tra Vinh does not have an airport to serve tourists. Therefore, if you depart from the Northern or Central provinces, you will have to buy a plane ticket to Ho Chi Minh City or Can Tho. Tra Vinh is about 200 km by road from Ho Chi Minh City, tourists can go by motorbike or car. Can Tho is about 75 km from Tra Vinh, many young people choose to go by motorbike to experience their journey.

According to the experience of travel enthusiasts, Tra Vinh has its own beauty in every season. Therefore, tourists can come here at any time of the year. However, this place attracts the most tourists during the festival season. Tra Vinh is famous for the Chol Chnam Thmay festival (full moon of the third lunar month) and the Ok Om Bok festival (full moon of the tenth lunar month). This is a traditional festival of the Khmer ethnic group. You should combine Tra Vinh festival tourism with Ba Dong tourism, which will be quite attractive.

If you simply want to find a place close to nature, relax, live green, live slowly..., Ba Dong is always ready to welcome you, especially in the coming summer days.

Note, if you want to experience a few days here, you need to know that near Ba Dong beach there are no large, luxurious hotels, only cheap motels with basic quality. If you have a schedule to visit many places in Tra Vinh, visitors should consider finding a suitable place to stay before departure.

Ba Dong Beach is quite safe, with few deep holes and whirlpools. However, that should not be a reason to be complacent. You should follow the rules and flags at the beaches, do not go too far and do not rely on your swimming ability. Always ensure the safety of yourself and your family when swimming.

Along Ba Dong beach, tourists can easily find thatched huts built by Truong Long Hoa locals to serve tourists. After a refreshing swim, don't forget to stop by these huts to fill your hungry stomach. The seafood in Ba Dong is quite fresh and delicious, the locals are gentle and hospitable. There are also few cases of overcharging like in other bustling tourist areas. However, to have a complete experience, when using any service, tourists should ask carefully about the price and negotiate in advance.
