Proactive support
For over 10 years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhuan, owner of an agricultural supplies store in Tuong Vu village, Lai Khe commune (Kim Thanh), has been helping disadvantaged women in the area by lending them fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides without interest. Thanks to Ms. Nhuan's support, many women who are household heads have been able to develop their economy and make ends meet.
In the past, Ms. Nhuan's family also did agriculture, so because she was quick-witted, she switched to business. Farming is seasonal, and we cannot always pay for input costs immediately, so Ms. Nhuan is willing to lend materials to our sisters in advance without calculating interest or setting a repayment date. "My family does business, and we also need capital to rotate, but we still try to arrange and overcome it so that our sisters can borrow in advance and pay later. At the beginning of each season, I provide materials for our sisters to produce, and only get the money after the harvest. Even in years of crop failure, I do not ask for it immediately but let my sisters postpone it for a few seasons," Ms. Nhuan said.

Thanks to Mrs. Nhuan's support, women in Tuong Vu village have timely agricultural materials to plant rice and cassava, without having to worry about money. The amount of materials that Mrs. Nhuan lends to women each crop ranges from a few million to tens of millions of dong.
The 7-sao fish pond of Mrs. Pham Thi Hien in Hoanh Loc village, Cam Van commune (Cam Giang) is about to yield its first harvest. This achievement is not only the result of Mrs. Hien's family's efforts but also the joint efforts of many women in the village. Mrs. Hien and her husband are old but their economy is not stable. Knowing their situation, the women in the village pooled money and lent Mrs. Hien 50 million VND to dig a pond and raise fish.
The women also supported Mrs. Hien with 16 working days to renovate the pond. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Chi, President of the Women's Union of Cam Van Commune, for difficult cases, the union at all levels still has support plans. However, the review and assessment will take time, while when there are situations that require immediate help, the cooperation of union members at the grassroots level is very necessary.
Small work, big meaning

Over the years, the provincial women's unions at all levels have carried out many emulation movements, campaigns, and practical and effective programs towards a stable and happy life for members. From there, they have contributed to spreading positive values, affirming the position of women in society. However, not only responding to common movements and programs, in many places in the province, women's union members have also proactively connected and helped each other. Thanks to that, a strong connection has been created between the sisters.
The capital contribution lending model of women in Kim Anh commune (Kim Thanh) has been maintained for nearly 10 years. The initiator was Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, a member of the commune's women's association. Ms. Tuyet said: "At first, I thought that one person's savings would not be equal to everyone's contributions, so I called on women to contribute capital in the spirit of supporting and sharing with each other, without calculating interest. Those in difficulty will be given priority. I also did not think that my idea would be supported by everyone so much. From this, we have become even more united, have more opportunities to share as well as support and help each other in life."
Encouraging well-off women to lend interest-free loans to women in difficulty is an activity that the Thanh Mien District Women's Union has actively implemented in recent years. The Union has determined that this is a practical way to do things, bringing high efficiency and promoting the spirit of mutual love and support among members. As a result, up to now, thousands of women have lent interest-free loans to women in difficulty to do business. This is both a source of capital and a source of motivation for women in difficulty to rise up.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, President of the Thanh Mien District Women's Union, affirmed that this method is not only a material and resource support, but also a great source of encouragement, helping the less fortunate women gradually reduce their difficulties and strongly rise up in life.
According to the Provincial Women's Union, in addition to entrusted loans, in recent years many grassroots associations have also promoted their connecting role so that members can proactively help and support each other to overcome difficulties.
In the first quarter of 2025, through the grassroots association, 166 women with good economic conditions lent 208 women in difficulty interest-free loans with a total amount of nearly 6 billion VND, not to mention the women who voluntarily helped each other without going through the grassroots association. Although the material support was not large, it had great spiritual significance when the women were willing to help each other without calculating the gains and losses.
