Details of the 2025 high school graduation exam schedule

This year's high school graduation exam takes place on June 26-27, with two exam schedules for candidates studying under the new and old programs.

This year, the Ministry of Education and Training has released two exam schedules, for candidates taking the new general education program and the old 2006 general education program.

The reason there are two exam schedules is because, besides the first candidates graduating from high school under the new program, there are still candidates studying under the old program who need to take the graduation exam to be considered for recognition of high school graduation or to get scores for university admission.

Candidates taking the graduation exam for the first time must take four exams, including Math and Literature. In addition, candidates choose two elective subjects (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Languages).

Candidates taking the old program will take the Literature, Math, Foreign Language exams, and one of two Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Sciences (History, Geography, CivicEducation ).

On the first day, candidates must be present at the examination room at the specified time to complete the examination procedures, present their ID card and receive their examination card.

If there are any errors in personal information, priority subjects, or priority areas, you must immediately report to the supervisor or person on duty at the testing site for timely handling. In case of loss of ID card or other necessary documents, you must immediately report to the head of the testing site for consideration and handling.

For each exam session, candidates must be present at the exam location/room at the specified time, follow the exam location's signals and the invigilator's instructions. Candidates who arrive more than 15 minutes late after the test start time signal will not be allowed to take the exam for that session.

To serve the exam process, candidates are allowed to bring into the exam room: pens, rulers, pencils, erasers, set squares, graphing rulers, drawing tools; handheld calculators without text editing function, no memory card.

Prohibited from bringing into the exam room/waiting room: carbon paper, erasers, alcoholic beverages, weapons and explosives, flammable substances, documents, communication equipment (receiving, broadcasting information, recording audio, video) or containing information to cheat during the exam.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, the total number of candidates registering for the 2025 high school graduation exam is 1,165,289; an increase of 93,894 registrations compared to last year (in 2024, the total number of candidates registering for the high school graduation exam is 1,071,395).

Of which, 1,122,507 grade 12 candidates took the exam according to the 2018 general education program (accounting for 96.33%), 42,782 independent candidates (accounting for 3.67%).
