Vo Ha Hanh Nhan and friends perform contemporary art

The late painter Vo Xuan Huy (1970 - 2016) was an outstanding young painter of Hue in the field of lacquer - the traditional art of the nation. His talent was recognized by the art world of the ancient capital when he mastered the academic painting, especially lacquer with the ability to "transcend" the framework, dimensions, and common concepts to create his own world , his own language in the world of Vietnamese visual arts.

As for artist Vo Ha Hanh Nhan, daughter of the late painter Vo Xuan Huy, she has a formal musical background: piano, composing at the Hue Academy of Music, Ho Chi Minh Conservatory of Music with many awards. She herself also has experimental works with freshness with contemporary tones and homemade instruments (DIY) and electronic means.

Eight years after the death of the late painter Vo Xuan Huy, Hanh Nhan met and had a dialogue with her father in “The Shape of Sound”. This is a dialogue of yin and yang, between the art of Vo Xuan Huy and the talent of young artist Vo Ha Hanh Nhan. Hanh Nhan and her friends performed contemporary music on the background of 24 abstract lacquer paintings by her father, the late painter Vo Xuan Huy.

The event takes place over 1 week, from July 6 to 12.
