On the afternoon of April 4, the Ministry of Health informed that by the end of April 3, 53/54 provinces had deployed measles vaccination for 762,320/800,719 subjects, reaching 95.2% (meeting the planned target). In particular, Can Tho city, because it has completed vaccination for groups of subjects with a high rate in 2024 and early 2025, still has a small number of subjects that need vaccination and will be integrated into regular vaccination days.

40/53 provinces achieved a vaccination rate of over 95%; of which 5 provinces had the highest vaccination rate including Bac Giang (98.0%), Khanh Hoa (97.5%), Phu Yen (97.5%), Lang Son (97.4%), Tien Giang (97.3%);

There are 12/53 provinces with high vaccination rates from 90-95%, only Hoa Binh has a vaccination rate below 90% and is continuing to vaccinate children who have postponed vaccination.

Along with the 2024 and 2025 vaccination campaigns, based on local proposed needs, the Ministry of Health has issued a plan to implement the 2nd measles vaccination campaign in 2025, which will be implemented in 54 provinces and cities (except for 9 provinces and cities including Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Ca Mau, Kon Tum, Long An, Soc Trang, Ben Tre, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu which are not included in the plan because they have completed the vaccination campaign from 2024/phase 1 in 2025) for children from 6 months to under 9 months old, children from 1-10 years old who have not been fully vaccinated with measles-containing vaccines as prescribed with the target of covering 95% or more.

In recent times, implementing the Prime Minister's direction in Official Dispatch No. 23/CD-TTg dated March 25, 2025 on accelerating measles vaccination, the Ministry of Health has actively and synchronously deployed solutions to accelerate the progress of the measles vaccination campaign. The Ministry of Health has also proactively mobilized resources to ensure adequate and timely supply of measles vaccines to provinces and cities across the country.

Provinces and cities have urgently deployed activities to screen subjects, propagate and mobilize parents and guardians to take their children for vaccination, and organize flexible vaccination forms suitable to the characteristics of each region and area, including vaccination on holidays (Saturday, Sunday) or vaccination in the evening./.
