I had a work accident and am a regular beneficiary of work accident benefits with a 34% reduction in working capacity. Now my child is a student and has submitted an application for tuition compensation to the local authority. However, the receptionist replied that he/she is not entitled to it because he/she is not the child of a cadre, civil servant, employee, or worker. May I ask, in my case, will my child be entitled to a tuition reduction? (vanlam***@gmail.com)

On September 3, the Government issued Decree No. 238/2025/ND-CP replacing Decree No. 81/2021/ND-CP dated August 27, 2021, stipulating the mechanism for collecting and managing tuition fees for educational institutions in the national education system and policies on tuition exemption and reduction, support for learning costs; and service prices in the field of education and training.
Accordingly, Clause 2, Article 16 of Decree No. 238/2025/ND-CP stipulates the subjects eligible for a 50% reduction in tuition fees: "Students in vocational education institutions and universities whose father or mother has a work-related accident or occupational disease are entitled to regular allowances".
We recommend that you compare with the above regulations. If you meet the conditions, your child will enjoy a 50% tuition reduction policy.
