Proactive measures to respond to dangerous weather in the coming time

Faced with the above weather situation, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue has just issued a document requesting proactive measures to respond to thunderstorms with tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind that may occur in the coming time.

The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue requested localities, agencies and units to closely monitor warning bulletins, natural disaster forecasts and weather to promptly notify and guide communes and people to proactively prevent bad weather phenomena such as thunderstorms with tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind that may occur in the coming time.

Organize inspections and reviews of response plans appropriate to specific conditions in localities, agencies and units. Proactively prepare means, materials and shock troops at the grassroots level to be ready to mobilize to help people respond and overcome consequences quickly, promptly and effectively.

The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue also requested Quang Nam Radio and Television Station, media agencies, especially at the grassroots level, to increase propaganda activities, disseminate instructions to people on how to recognize and respond to thunderstorms with tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. In particular, focusing on shelter measures, avoiding and ensuring safety when thunderstorms and lightning occur; reinforcing, covering, and protecting assets, crops, and livestock to minimize damage.

Quang Nam Hydrometeorological Station closely monitors weather and natural disaster developments; forecasts and promptly informs authorities and people to proactively direct and deploy response work.
